Rack Gives Back – Coast to Coast Challenge 2012, Part 1
Having safely arrived in the picturesque village of St Bees, we are introduced to some proper Lakeland hospitality when the landlady of one of our B&Bs phones to say she’s popping into the shops in nearby Whitehaven, and did we want anything?! Thanking her profusely for her ‘Fanatical Support’, we head to a nearby restaurant for dinner and discussions around our route tomorrow.
High spirits were very much in evidence as we eagerly looked at weather forecasts and planned the routes we’re going to take.
The drive into St Bees took us through many pretty villages and up and down lots of very steep hills. These hills, combined with the rain that is forecast do nothing to dampen our spirits. The fact that we’re at 82% of our fundraising target for Harlington Hospice helps with this, and we hope that many more donations come in while we are cycling.
So here we are (that’s me on the far right), ready to go with three days of cycling through steep hills in forecast rain and high winds awaiting us. Please donate generously (https://www.justgiving.com/RackspaceC2C2012) to help keep us going!
